{Well actually 6 if you count pumpkins}
If you caught this week on stories, Katie and I both styled a spot in our home with what “Fall” decor means to each of us, and not surprisingly, we had a ton of overlap in what we included. I know many of us don’t have the time or means to go all out decorating our homes each season, but here is a super simple “how to” guide for decorating for fall- many items you may already have!
- FALL “GREENS”– Pick up some faux stems and toss them into a vase or go clip some striking fall foliage from a yard. Voila- instant fall color.
- TEXTURE– A terra cotta vase, a stone vessel ( mine is a cheap florist vase covered in a paint+baking soda mixture that created a very cool texture), a metal box, a wood bowl- you get the idea. Find something to bring in that warmth in texture.
- COZY STUFF– Blankets and Pillows are a “duh” to me. A chunky weave blanket paired with a velvet or linen pillow in a warm color: instant fall.
- CANDLES and anything Amber colored- Pick up a fall scent- or not- just light a candle and call it done.
- ART– Now you may have some precious art that is in fall colors, but if you don’t, just head to etsy and purchase a print. I’ve had them printed all over the place- from walgreens, costco, fedex to mpix. Obviously this is seasonal so you don’t have to spend a fortune. Many prints are a few bucks and the same with the printing. My deep floral print is even in a thrifted frame!
- PUMPKINS– I had to include it, even though I only have pumpkins outside my home, it is the easiest way to make a space say FALL IS HERE! Whether you make a pumpkin patch outing every year or you prefer the faux version, toss a couple on a shelf and your home is not ready for the season.
